When our family went to the Creation Museum (Ken Ham ministry) outside of Cincinnati each of us decided to come up with a question to try and find an answer to at the museum. Three out of the four of us felt pretty satisfied with our answers (Lindsey will have to ask her question to God in Heaven. Adam could have named the animals one by one as they were created and it would have been quite efficient!) For the rest of us, here are some answers we uncovered:
*Why are some animals vegetarians, some eat meat and some eat anything? This was a tough one that left me shaking my head, “My eight-year-old Micah came up with THIS?” Several exhibits made it clear all animals were vegetarians because death and sin went hand in hand; however the variety after sin is another matter. I researched at answersingenesis.org (also Ken Ham) at the suggestion of a museum guide. I discovered Creation scientists have different theories- one being the DNA of creatures changed at Creation and caused the animals to eat and do many things differently after the Fall.
*Could Evolution and Creation co-exist? Much of the museum debunks this theory and I just had a firmer belief once I left that Creation does not need Evolution to create variety. Much of the museum is exhibits comparing “Man’s Ways” vs. “God’s Ways.” The explanation of how little of “Lucy” (the supposed ancient human-ape) we actually have made it so clear how much (like dating) modern science has actually made up. Very eye-opening.
*Why haven’t we found human and dinosaur bones together? At the last minute my husband Andrew was unable to go on the school trip so I decided to look for an answer to his question along the way. Here is an exact quote from one of the exhibits:
None have been found yet however many animals that live the world today, like crocodiles and coelanths (a special type of fish), aren’t found buried with humans either. If human bones aren’t found with dinosaur bones, it simply means they weren’t buried together.
There was so much material to take in I would love to go back again!
