The blur of faces and farm smells. A pounding heartbeat and shallow, labored breaths. Meeting the eyes of my father, I collapsed. He scooped me off the ground carried me to the car and then the emergency room. I was barely conscious, and yet I will never forget it. When I was 16 he saved my life. That’s my daddy.
Giving his little girl a bath. Styling her hair and buttoning her favorite Little Mermaid dress. Getting her papers together and making sure she is ready for the day, while I was doing the morning show. He took on that role with love- and let me shine. That’s my husband.
Two men quietly leading their families to love Christ and making sacrifices everyday to make sure the home works smoothly. Sacrifice. Courage. Loyalty. Men of their word. I am so thankful for my husband, Andrew, and my dad, Bernie, who have always been there- leading. Happy Father’s Day and thank you!
